You have expressed it beautifully…

‘Just the windmill of the ticking time’. That is the whole point: to know only that time is passing, very elegantly, but not to know or care how quickly. If it was necessary to know the time at all, then Haldimann also adds the minute repeater to the tour

Interesting thoughts

One of the points I may add is that the traditional tourbillon almost never was shown on the dial side. And honestly, why the need to show it? Unless.... I agree with the fact that there is the category of the kinetic art such as Haldimann and GF. Both wi

As a target has several 'rings'...

...can we break down the question into several kinds of target? For the 'Wouldn't it be nice to have this one in the near future?' category: (The Urban Jurgensen Montre Observatoire.) [photo: UJ] For the 'Wow, if one of these came along at a remotely af

Pimp my Minute Repeater

Hi all, I'd like to share a little project I have. But before, let me tell you that I'm a Minute-Repeater WIS. Ive been in love with minute repeaters for about 10 years now, and I own several (all of them are recased from pocket watches) I happened to ha

Ahhh, sandgroper...

...you found it - "below". ;-) The H11 plays to every personal preference. It is not the H1, or the H8 (either of which could bring an end to this madness), but it is a worthy addition to the Haldimann family. Perhaps, one day, an addition to the watchbox

Francois, I am honoured to have introduced you to

Beat Haldimann’s wonderful creations and I am humbled by your kind words. Thank you so much! Of course, I can fully understand your first impression of the H8 and H9. I have been interested in horology for more than thirty years now and I have kept cultiv

Well, where to start Valentin? Perhaps from your beautifully written...

text about Haldimann's prowess as a "Maitre Horloger" his philosophy about time and his achievement so far demonstrated in his Extra Ordinary Time Pieces. Firstly, I have to admit that I didn't know of Haldimann, (ok, I live under a rock:)) and reading yo
